Delirious, Delirious

Christian worship band Delirious? is on the move. With latest CD, "Mission Bell," the pioneering Brit band is touring the US, beginning this March.

Anyone even slightly into the Christian music scene knows of Delirious?, the pioneering Brit band that leads the way in today's worship field. With a unique sound and a large collection of songs that will stand through the generations ("Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble" and "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" among them), Delirious? set the bar for worship bands today. And they set it high.

Their latest offering, "Mission Bell," released December 2005, welcomes guests TobyMac and Jars of Clay guitarist Steve Mason. It is as potent a project as any of their earlier ones, with the same majestic themes and epic tone. And they don't shrink back from challenging their listeners with truth, the heavy in-your-face kind. The centerpiece of the project is the brooding, bold, and finally triumphant song, "Our God Reigns," addressing AIDS, abortion and materialism in no uncertain terms.

One listen and you'll be eager to experience their ministry live. In the past year alone they have ministered in 33 countries, but they return to the US this month for fifteen dates from Virginia to California. If you're only going to make one concert this year, this is the one to catch. A Delirious? concert is like no other; the quintet has the power to touch and move the hearts of its audience in an amazing way. I've seen videos of their live shows in the UK, where audiences of thousands were completely still, caught up in the moment with God. Those kinds of moments often change lives.

Like the Beatles of today's Christian music scene, in that they are extremely influential, Delirious? is leading their generation, setting a holy trend that must please the One for whom they do it. But don't take my word for it. Check out their show for yourself. You can find the band's worldwide tour itinerary
