Sixpence None the Richer split amicably 2 years ago, but we never stopped missing Leigh Nash. So it’s with great delight that we receive news of her upcoming solo album.
"Blue On Blue" will be released on August 15 from One Son Records, her imprint label through Nettwerk Productions. Word is that it will contain sweetly understated musings on love and motherhood, produced by Pierre Marchand, who also co-wrote 2 songs with Nash, "All Along the Wall" and "Between the Lines.
Nash wasn't exactly sure how her solo career would play out. "I knew I wanted to do a record on my own - I always knew I wanted to do that if the band were to break up. But then we actually did break up, and I hadn't necessarily seen that coming," she says. "It was a major life change for me because I had been with Sixpence since I was fourteen. I was 27 at the time, and I didn't know what I was going to do."
As they waited for their future to unfold, Leigh and her husband packed their bags and moved out west to LA, where she welcomed her son Henry into the world. With a change of scenery and newfound motherhood, Nash experienced a new sense of creative vitality and wrote a batch of songs that would eventually become Blue On Blue. The project will be one of the more anticipated albums of the year.
