Horrified by the sexual exploitation of thousands of children, Natalie Grant started the HOME Foundation to help rescue and heal child prostitutes in India.
After watching an episode of "Law & Order," Grant was exposed to the harsh reality of child trafficking here in our own country. "I was not prepared to see the reality of child sex trafficking so close to home," says the singer now strongly committed to saving as many of these kids as possible. She visited Bombay, India, to see the problem up close, even seeing a caged child on the street on display as a sex slave. That sight was enough to inspire her to found the HOME Foundation, where she has "100% control over where the money goes. This year, all of it is going to the Bombay Teen Challenge and to build a medical facility for the Village of Ashagram." Bombay Teen Challenge helps women and children involved in the sex trade, providing a shelter in the red-light district and food, shelter and educational assistance. The medical center at Ashagram will provide care to the 85% of rescued prostitutes who carry the AIDS virus. Grant encourages believers to support World Vision so children can be sponsored rather than on the streets, and hey, most important, don't forget to pray for these kids!
