The Spring Hill Worship people are building a solid team of worship artists and Anadara is the latest, releasing her "Into the Unknown" this August 29th.
Anadara's "Into the Unknown" is thoughtful and introspective but still brings the rock. There's a nice mix of tempos and feels within the ten tracks, but most fall into the folk-rock field, with an occasional '70s feel reminiscent of earlier heroes like Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon. A few songs will be familiar from recent Spring Hill projects, such as the string-heavy "Echoes Around the World" and majestic ballad "The Name." But the first strains of the rock opener "Go" will whet your appetite with its modern pulsating feel. It's followed by the very reflective "Simple," a song of rejoicing rich with luminous strings. You may have enjoyed the glorious "Song of My Surrender" before, but this poetic ballad will stop you in your tracks again, highlighting Anadara's lovely vocals and a sparkling piano line. Another standout is the percolating "By Your Love," with its pretty picking and Anadara's slightly bluesy vocals. "To The One" is a moving ballad that gives Anadara a chance to stretch out a bit vocally, and contains the wonderful backup vocal treat of Christy Nockels. The project is closed out with an introspective ballad, "Still," thick with reverence and adoration, a project staple. With "Into the Unknown," Anadara adds nicely to the lavish feast at Spring Hill Worship.
