Brandon Chase’s debut “Revolution” reveals him as a man of deep passions. This energetic rocker holds nothing back in his hot pursuit of the Lord.
"Revolution" opens fittingly with the electrifying guitar riffs of the title track, and from that point on it roars its way through ten tracks of desperate praise, expressed with great conviction through Chase's raspy vocals. Darrell Evans springs to mind immediately, for Chase utilizes the same rough vocals and physical guitar effects. And if you're unsure what I mean by physical, check out the muscular "Greater," a thumping throbbing rocker with very appealing changes. Take note of the downright snarling vocals of "I Can Feel His Love," contrasting interestingly with lyrics of great tenderness. And the juxtaposition of this track with the following is another surprise. The greatly encouraging "Run Into His Arms" stands out for its sparkling buoyancy, and Chase takes this bouncy opportunity to show his smooth side vocally. I found this track to be quite moving, and would have liked to hear more from Chase's soft underbelly. Still mixing it up, Chase offers up the upbeat note-bender, "You Are the One," rich with guitar noodling and happy praises. The bouncy "Swept Away" is a melodic joy, upbeat enough to force you out of your chair in exultant worship. It's a great lead-in for the worshipful closer, the joyous "There is a Song." While Chase doesn't bring anything new to the table lyrically, his songs do take the unexplored musical road more often then not, their chord changes reaching higher ground both instrumentally and emotionally. His intense fervor doesn't hurt either. Indie artist Brandon Chase is singing these songs from the bottom of his heart, making "Revolution" a refreshing and redemptive work of joy.
