Chris Tomlin, winner of five 2006 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, is back in the studio working on a follow-up to the gold-selling 2004 album, Arriving.
The new set is due in stores this September. Tomlin is asking fans to pray for him and the band throughout the process-that the music they make will be pleasing to God and encouraging to others. His website contains a blog in which Tomlin ocassionally records his process. A recent entry reads: "hey everyone.... we are currently working hard on our upcoming record this fall. I am so excited about what is happening in the studio. As I write this, Daniel is working with 2 time Producer of the Year, Mr. Ed Cash, on guitars. This feels like another special collection of songs. We are still in the early stages, but it is coming along. As many of you know, I have been honored with several awards as of late. I am humbled beyond belief. i heard these words recently from one of Keith Green's best loved songs. They seemed timely, so i thought i would pass them on... "i want to take Your word and shine it all around/ first help me just to live it Lord/ and when i'm doing well help me to never seek a crown/ for my reward is giving glory to You" Signed, your friend, Chris.
