The air feels crisp and the leaves are changing. Soon the trees will be bare and the ground will be blanketed with snow. Christmas lights will be strung and Santa’s appearance at the local mall is growing closer. Yes, the holiday season is around the corner.
Christmas celebrates the second most important event in human history – the birth of Christ. There are a lot of ways to celebrate this occasion. Many Christian musicians have taken this time of year to honor the birth of Christ by performing special Christmas concerts.
Each December Andrew Peterson and his friends head for the road to bring the story of Christ to churches across America. This is not your normal Christmas play with shepherds and talking donkeys. It tells the story of God’s redemptive plan from the beginning, starting in the Old Testament and threading through the birth of Christ.
This year Peterson will be joined by Jill Phillips, Andy Gullahorn, Andrew Osenga (Caedmon’s Call, The Normals), Bebo Norman, and Sarah Groves while on the road. There is also a hometown show at the Historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee that has a host of the best in music. Guests in the past have been Phil Keaggy, Allison Kraus, Randall Goodgame, Pierce Pettis, Fernando Ortega, and more.

This quartet of talented ladies sings timeless Christmas classics that can be found on their CD of the same name. Concert goers will hear songs like “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Jingle Bells” as well as songs that proclaim the coming of the King like “Breath of Heaven” and “For Unto Us”.
Point of Grace is joined on this tour by singer/songwriter Scott Krippayne. He is most recently known as the co-writer of the song “This is My Now” sung by Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis in the finals for American Idol Season Six.
To go with the Christmas theme of the tour, Krippayne released a Christmas EP simply titled Christmas. There are excellent songs to choose from such as “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”, “Silent Night”, and “Away in a Manger”.
