Just a teaser to hold us over until Group 1 Crew's February 20 release date, the warm groove of "Love is a Beautiful Thing" only makes me want more.
We had the opportunity to preview the opening track from their national Fervent Records debut, streeting February 20, and I'll put this as succinctly as I can: oh baby, February can't come soon enough for me now! The buzz on Group 1 Crew is enormous already, but it always includes mention of the group's heart to encourage. And "Love is a Beautiful Thing" fits right in there with that motivation. Upbeat and lush, the track is very upfront about God's love. Like a lot of Group 1 Crew's songs, it blends smart rhymes and exuberant vocals to pack a punched up message of truth. Warm horns accent the smooth R&B groove, and the song only whets my appetite for more of these fresh newcomers. Manwell Reyes, Pablo Villatoro and Blanca Reyes (no relation to Manwell) have an exciting future ahead of them, and Suite will be sure to keep you informed about all things related to Group 1 Crew.
