The sincerity and Scriptural focus of Jaime Jamgochian's "Reason to Live" has tapped into our national spiritual hunger for connection and worship.
So Suite was thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with this God-driven artist and communicator.
Suite: Jaime, your music is so steeped in worship. It must be difficult to balance worship with life on the road, and the business aspect of selling records. What do you do to keep first things first?
Jaime: It has been a challenge to find balance this year, if I were to be honest. So many things can grab my attention that I have got to make it a priority to stay connected at church and in my personal walk with Christ. I have mentors and friends that check in on me and make sure I am keeping the Lord first in everything -this helps me a lot.
Suite: I also loved the Scriptural origins and emphasis of a number of your songs. Do you set out to write, intentionally, from Scripture?
Jaime: I do desire to write songs with Scripture in them for I believe there is so much power in the word of God. We never set out that way but a lot of times when you are writing a song a Scripture comes to mind. Those are the times I try and work it into the lyric.
Suite: What song do fans seem to most connect with?
Jaime: “HEAR MY WORSHIP” is the song that is connecting the most with people. This is so neat to see as it was written during a very broken time in my walk with God. You never know what can come from those tough seasons.
Suite: Do you consider yourself more of a singer than a songwriter?
Jaime: Actually I consider myself more of a worshipper or lead worshipper or worship leader then a singer or songwriter. I have never thought of myself as a singer but I love to worship God and lead others in worship.
Suite: What are your long term goals for your music and ministry?
Jaime: It is my prayer to write songs the will be embraced by church at large. I would love to lead in worship in several different countries and nations! I would also love to do more with young woman like what I get to be apart of on the Girls Of Grace tour!
