You may not have known how much you missed her, until the first rocked out chords of “Romans” & those familiar earthy tones flood back on “Jennifer Knapp Live.”
Yup, Jennifer Knapp is back, or at least some live recordings from her 2001 "Back Forty Tour," offered up from the archives of Gotee. They cover a lot of her favorites, including "Lay It Down," "When Nothing Satisfies," "Usher Me Down," and a searing "Undo Me" that will peel the paint from your walls. If you weren't fortunate enough to catch her live when she toured, make sure you get a hold of "Live." The feral rawness of her vocal delivery matches her powerhouse rock chops perfectly, and this album only serves to remind us of the huge loss her absence is for us even now. The believer's answer to Melissa Etheridge and Sheryl Crow, Knapp exults in the intimate realness of her Savior and it's impossible not to be drawn in. Listen to "Live" and remember anew that your God meets you where you are, joining you in the pleasures of truth and rock and roll.
