Jontez, Jontez

Former “God’s Property” member Jontez will surprise you if you give him the chance.

I don't care what kind of ingrained resistance you have to boy bands or former members, the dance beats and programmed guitars of opener "Can't Get Enough" will melt away your defiance, your stiff spine, and any leftover ear wax, for that matter.

This debut album from Soul2Seoul, "And So It Is," released October 2005, comes on strong with strong urban beats and soulful pop rhythms, not to mention smooth vocals that could melt glacier snows. But like I said, give him a chance and your own wintry heart may do some thawing, for this energetic artist will make his way into mainstream culture. He is as talented and versatile as the top 40s artists on anybody's radio, able to successfully pull off all of the hot pop sounds, from R&B, to Latin groove, to urban soul, to the power ballad. And he does each one very, very well, with hooks impossible to resist, and salsa rhythms that just won't quit.

And if that isn't defrosting your arteries, consider the unadulterated worship of "I'm Not Alone" and "Call Me Your Own." These are bold declarations of faith that stand alone. In the end, you've got to give it up to Jontez for his straight-forward take-no-prisoner approach to celebrating God on today's urban pop stage. Now get up outta that chair and get your groove on!
