Radio Friendly, Listen

"Listen" is the fourth release from Radio Friendly, California's retro-rockers who offer high energy pop rock with a vertical flair.

“Listen” is seven tracks of solid rock, much of it with an ‘80s feel (the well-written “Lost in the City” and rocker “Just What I Needed”). Fronted by songwriter Bosch Boschetti, Radio Friendly has taken pains to inject some innovative touches on “Listen.” The shimmering “Radio” opens, appropriately enough, with some radio looping, landing on a Christian preacher before kicking off their melodic rock. Boschetti’s soulful vocals fit the material well, soaring over the tasty guitar tidbits of the looming rocker “Jesus,” complete with a throbbing guitar solo from Mark Hofman. “Precious” is nicely arranged, celebrating Christ’s work on Calvary through thick guitars. The project ends well, with the slamming rocker “All About You,” don’t miss the chunky bass line. I found the production muddy at times, but Boschetti and crew are a nice shot in the arm, musically and spiritually speaking.
