Rip-roarin’ out of Mission Veijo, where they have Hot Rod Church for Sinners, is The Pioneers, with their retro rockabilly sound. It’s Stray Cats with Jesus talk.
The band started in 1999 and has since changed members, but the sound and the mission are the same. They are spreading the Gospel and getting toes tappin' too. Lead singer Brian Bent's twangy voice takes you back to the 50's so quick you can taste the milkshakes, hear the hot rods cruisin' down Main Street. But it's not all AM radio music. These lyrics scream of the Savior and are full of devotion and heart. For real rockabilly gospel, check out the Pioneers.
