Rush of Fools release their self-titled debut. Produced by Matt Brownleewe, Jason Ingram, and Scott Davis, the quintet from Birmingham Alabama lead a progressive worship.

Rush of Fools enters the fray of Contemporary Christian Music with a radio friendly, self titled debut. The pop-rock album is filled with hooks that the band hopes grabs more than just your ear. While met with airplay, Rush of Fools has more to offer than the singles.

Progressive Worship

They might not be the first to use this soft-rock worship style, but with soul-stirring lyrics they are able to successfully bring us into the presence of God. The worshippers are reminded that they have a mighty proponent in all parts of their life in the song “For Those”. The chorus says, “If You are for us, who can be against us/ Who can be against Your own? If You are with us, who can separate us? Who can separate Your own?”

Choruses are, many times, the life’s blood of a church’s worship service. While Rush of Fools is able to write a good chorus, they're able to craft a good song from top to bottom. “All We Ever Needed” begins with these lyrics, “A heavy heart I bring/ for I am tired Lord/ awaken my lost love for You/ take this heart of stone/ and warm this bitter cold.” Rush of Fools ends “Your Love” with, “Your love has stolen my heart/ Your love has set me apart/ Your love is life in my veins/ and all my mistakes fade away/ so find me/ and stop me/ and take me/ and save me."

Seasoned Producers Matt Brownleewe, Jason Ingram, and Scott Davis

Rush of Fools found the cream of the crop as far as producers go. Between them Matt Brownleewe, Jason Ingram, and Scott Davis have worked with some of the best artists Contemporary Christian music. Jars of Clay, Michael W. Smith, Bebo Norman and Jessie Daniels are just some of the people these guys have worked with in the past.

The instruments complement the first-rate lyrics bringing us continually into the presence of God. On “When Our Hearts Sing” the guitar winds its way around the vocals to bring out the passion and desire for God. Similarly, the music and vocals meld to bring forward the anxiousness on “Jesus Hurry”.

Alabama Boys Done Good

These guys from Birmingham Alabama have put their hearts into this album. They lead worship with a maturity beyond their age. It just goes to show that age is no barrier when it comes to worshipping Jesus.
