Can’t stop listening to Tyler James’ indie-pop “Stay Humble,” a lush piano-driven song that beautifully highlights his oh-so-dulcet vocals.
23 year-old Tyler James is from the Seattle area, but has happily relocated to the Nashville area, and is in the process of making it his very own. His less-is-more sound is causing a stir, and was recently featured by Paste Magazine. He recently released his first proper EP with Nashville producer Jason Lehning (Guster, David Mead) and plans to record his first full-length record this year, 2006, after spending a lot of the past year on the road. Tyler's intent is to bring back music that actually matters to people. His simple arrangements, amazing vocals, and accessible songs should be quite effective in doing just that. I've only heard a small portion of the EP, but it's more than enough to whet my appetite. Keep checking back for a full review to come, and hopefully a full interview with the fascinating new artist with the big goals.
