There's a lot going on in the world of Switchfoot. Find out details here about the new album, new tour dates, and a sad Christmas card story.
First off, of course, is the release of "Oh! Gravity." The new album, "Oh! Gravity" hits stores in the US and Canada Dec. 26th (only 14 days from now!). You can read the full Suite review of "Oh! Gravity" here (hint: we LOVED it!) Switchfoot offers up these details in a recent Bulletin: New Tour On Sale Today (special advance pre-sale) We are so very proud to announce that we are bringing our good friends from Copeland along with us on our upcoming US/Canadian tour. This is a tour you won't want to miss! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you may even want to wear diapers. The dates are below and tickets are available now through our website for a limited time only (this is an advance pre-sale, so quantities are very limited!) Tickets will go on-sale to the general public starting on Dec. 15th at all major ticket outlets. Tell your friends, or better yet, I've heard they make great Christmas gifts, especially when packaged with a fruit cake. In other news, our good friend David Letterman (OK, we've only met once for about 10 seconds, but there was a real connection) has invited us to perform our newest single "Oh! Gravity" on his classy late night show, appropriately titled, "The Late Show" on January 4. The new DVD's and photobooks have arrived and they are available in our online store! The new DVD is titled, "Switchfootage 2: making gravity" and it contains over an hour of new footage, with tons of bonus content, including 2 never-before-seen music videos. The Deluxe Holiday Package includes: * Oh! Gravity - Switchfoot's brand new album! * 3-song Oh! EP - contains 3 unreleased tunes, not available anywhere else! * NEW Switchfoot Photo Book - 144 pages, full-color * The annual Switchfoot Christmas Card (hand-signed by the band) * Switchfootage II DVD - brand new! over an hour of new footage * Switchfoot Sticker pack - set of three stickers * Switchfoot Button Pack - 5 brand new buttons * Bonus Item: 2006 Fall Tour Poster - limited-edition poster from the fall tour The Christmas Card Caper. Do you have any idea how long it takes for 5 people of medium intelligence to sign 2500 Christmas cards? About 4 hours and 27 minutes (give or take 10 minutes or so). But it only took about 5 seconds to leave them behind our van in LA, and accidently drive over them on our way home to San Diego. To find out more about the ongoing saga, click here. New video podcast is up! For those of you who aren't already aware, we have been doing a video podcast for the past 6 months or so, and, quite frankly, we think they rule. The new podcast even captures our pain as we searched through dumpsters, looking for our missing Christmas cards. For iTunes users, you can subscribe for free by clicking on this link .
