Through their brand of spacey techno rock, they bore bravely into the core issues of pride, surrender, brokenness, and married love. Most songs are written by founder, frontman and keyboardist Lonnie Bos, who offers up a sound that is accessible and appealing, even as it seeks to shake up overgrown foundations.
Opener "Monochrome" cries out for color, its shimmering guitars clamoring for fresh winds of creativity, found finally in the wildest Creator of all. The sturdy rocker "Life Outside" is rich with both truth and electronica flair. The quiet ballad "My Love" celebrates the joys of a godly wife, warmly enhanced by the lush string section of Robyn and Duncan Whitcombe and Bos' Bowie-like vocals. "Masquerade" addresses the lies we all live, over a bed of throbbing guitars and "Miles of Mystery" is another standout, with its Lou Reed tones and chord changes that dance deliciously near dissonance. "Control" is completely cliché-free and good for any soul- shaking you might require, releasing September 19th.
