Contemporary Christian music mainstay, newsboys releases its latest offering, “GO,” Oct. 31, their first bona fide pop-rock album in nearly five years.

"GO" was motivated by newsboys' recent international travels. Produced by Tedd T and Peter Furler, "GO" originates at the height of newsboys influence and recognition overseas. Having recently performed shows in Europe, Morocco, and Tiberius, Israel, as well as their countless domestic shows, newsboys engaged thousands of people from various cultures and religious backgrounds, prompting them to record an album that echoed the call of the Great Commission.

"The Israeli festival had a large impact on us," comments newsboys' frontman Peter Furler. "All the different nationalities and religious beliefs coming together, and for that moment co-existing peacefully, was a moment I will never forget." Such purpose is reflected on songs like the title track: "GO...From the top of the world/ To the bottom rung/'til the work is done/I wanna send you/GO.../From the break of the dawn/To the age's end/Somebody's needing a friend/I wanna send you."

Musically, the project harkens back to newsboys' popular, catchy pop-rock sound while moving forward creatively and sonically. "Wherever We Go" released to radio Aug. 18 and was the most added song at both Adult Contemporary and Christian Hit Radio its first week out, debuting on the Top 30 chart. Plans are in the works now for a major album premier event live from Jerusalem. newsboys will also be heading out on tour in the Spring of 2007 for the largest tour of their career to date, additional details forthcoming on the band's website.
