Veggie Tales Greatest HitsLarry the Cucmber and Bob the Tomato Bring Christian Values to CDVeggieTales Greatest Hits bring the Christian values from its video series to CD. Join Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato, along with the rest of the gang.
VeggieTales brings God’s word to life using not only the stories, but songs. So it comes with no surprise that there would be a Greatest Hits. “If you like to talk to tomatoes, if a squash can make you smile/ If you like to waltz with potatoes, up and down the produce aisle… Have we got a show for you!” These are the most famous words ever to be sung by produce and have delighted children for many years now. Silly Songs with LarryVeggie Tales proves that Christians know how to have a good time. “Silly Songs with Larry” is a segment on many of the Veggie Tales videos that are usually hilarious. It is “the part of the show when Larry comes out and sings a silly song.” For the benefit of those that don’t know, Larry is a cucumber and is one of the co-hosts of Veggie Tales. Bob the Tomato is the other co-host and Larry’s straight man. Veggie Tales Greatest Hits wouldn’t be very great if there weren’t a few Silly Songs on it. Of course there is the first one, “The Water Buffalo Song”. Larry sings about his hairbrush (no worries, there’s no hair on this cuke), and the “Song of the Cebu”. While Larry the Cucumber may be known for being silly and funny, some of the other Veggies get in on the act. Mr. Lunt, who is a gourd sings a love song to “His Cheeseburger” and fronts a Boy Band to sing about his “Belly Button”, or rather the lack of one. Mr. Nezzer, a very big pickle, sings the “New and Improved Bunny Song”, which is just in time for Easter because there will probably be many kiddies that have the same problem as Mr. Nezzer. Special Veggie Videos and Other BonusesVeggie Tales Greatest Hits has more than just 15 of the most favorite songs from past Veggie Tale videos. The CD is an Enhanced CD and comes with 2 bonus videos. The Rapscallions and Frankencelery sing us the tale of “The Yodeling Veterinarian of the Alps”. Larry the Cucumber is the title character and tries to cure the ailments of animals with his yodeling. Hilarity ensues. Larry also stars in the second bonus video, “The Dance of the Cucumber”. Larry sings in Spanish and dances around as Bob the Tomato interprets. Bob becomes the butt of the jokes, and once again with the hilarity. There is also a bonus song which was not in any video. It’s called “Foreign Exchange Veggies”. The song has a couple of lines from some of the songs sung in different languages. It’s a fun song that will delight fans to hear some of their favorite lines sung in Spanish, German, and other languages. Also for the first time, the “VeggieTales Theme Song” is included. As popular and identifiable as it is, it has never been included in any of the previous VeggieTales collections. Staying true to teaching children about God and how to treat others, there are songs that are still fun but have a lesson. “God is Bigger” teach children that they don’t have to be afraid because God is always with them. “Stand!” helps show the kids that you need to stand for what is right. VeggieTales Greatest Hits is an excellent collection that brings the fun of the series to another medium. Bob and Larry are joined by Junior Asparagus, Mr. Lunt, Pa Grape, Archibald Asparagus, and the rest on this fun CD. Get ready because “it’s time for VeggieTaaales!”
