Where to Find Christian Lyrics Online

It used to be that in order to find the lyrics to favorite Christian songs, a person only had two choices. The first was to use an actual church hymnal or find a music store that specialized in Christian and Gospel music. In either case, if the song being sought was obscure or relatively new, it may have been quite difficult to find the lyrics, if at all.
In this age of the Internet, finding the lyrics to Christian songs is no longer a pot luck hunt. There are a large number of websites that now specialize in these types of songs. Here are a few of them, along with the types of songs they specialize in.
All Gospel Lyrics
This is a one-stop website for all gospel lyrics. This site has just about every new and old gospel song for free download. Yes, free! Not only does this site contain the lyrics to all of your favorite gospel songs, it also has an extensive lyrical library of:

Songbook Christian Lyrics
This is more along the lines of "find it yourself," when looking for Christian lyrics online. There is a large selection of contemporary Christian songs and hymns, but the user must use a search engine to find the names and files. Sometimes just knowing a few lines of a hymn is enough, but searching that way can lead to some frustrating results. There is also the possbility to search by artist.
The lyrics are presented on the screen and are free to copy and print. There is a section that contains the "Latest" songs, which are added to the site, but it changes from day to day. The bottom line is that there is a large selection of Christian lyrics, but finding them can take some time.
Christian Lyrics
This site boasts that it has the largest selection of all types of Christian music lyrics available on the Internet. The selections range from:

The user can search by song title, artist, or even words from the song or hymn. There is also a "Top Artist" section that changes from week to week, listing the current top recording artist(s) and the lyrics to their top song.

Any Christian Lyrics
Any Christian Lyrics contains a lyric directory where the user can search for the lyrics to favorite hymns or songs alphabetically. A "Newest" lyrics section contains the lyrics to songs that have recently been made or newly downloaded to the website.
Like many similar sites, there is a "Most Popular Lyrics" section and various links to similar sites where the user can be directed to obtain those hard to find song lyrics.
Hymn Lyrics
This is a website that has a comprehensive selection of lyrics from various types of hymnals. The categories include (but are not limited to):
- Popular hymns
- Traditional hymns
- Contemporary hymns
There are even children's songs. The user can download the lyrics to any song in the extensive database at no cost, as well as listen to selected hymns online.
These are just a few of the multitude of websites available that provide the lyrics to Christian hymns and songs. The majority of these sites are sponsored by advertisements by related Christian companies, in combination with donations from website visitors. If the song being sought is not on one of these sites than it must be either extremely rare or so new it is unpublished.
