"Word of God Speak - the Worship Session" from Integrity Label Group is right on time, flowing with the recent move toward crafting music directly around Scripture.
It’s a trend that I find thrilling, being one who came into the church at a time when most of the congregational choruses did exactly that. In the process of worshipping, I effortlessly learned vital Scriptures in my early days as a believer, setting a firm foundation that continues to serve. Along with this strong Integrity project, "Glory Revealed" is the most recent offering that comes to mind for serving the Word of God and His people as well. “Word of God Speak” makes the concept equally appealing, offering up 13 well-crafted songs of high caliber, satisfying musically as well as spiritually. Featuring worship artists Todd Fields, Christy Nockels and Candi Pearson-Shelton, “Word of God Speak” excels at pairing just the right worship leader, with just the right passage, and matches the sonics with both. Todd Fields kicks things off powerfully with the exuberant rocker “The Heavens Declare,” its lush bridge soaring upward, ever vertical. “Fear Not,” upbeat and warm, is one of several country-flaired rockers, in this case a joyous take on the familiar verses of Isaiah 43. Other tracks are more reflective, like Field’s “Be Still and Know,” a contemplative soundtrack for the instruction of Psalm 46. Culled from passages in books like Galatians, Philippians, and Proverbs, the songs share in common an extreme singability. These songs are made for Sunday morning. Fitting, isn’t it? “Word of God Speak – The Worship Session” is the fourth in the Integrity series, and will be available on April 10th with the following companion resources: CD trax, songbook and a CD-ROM digital songbook.
