Popular Christian singing group Avalon was recognized by World Vision for its work in finding financial sponsors for more than 18,000 needy children worldwide.

The vocal quartet is a longtime partner with the humanitarian organization and was honored at a recent World Vision event in Nashville. Russ Taff joined the group on stage to sing "We Will Stand," featured on Avalon's latest release, "Stand." Founding member Janna Long said, "We're grateful to be at a place in life where God is allowing us to be part of something bigger, to see a bigger picture. For me, child sponsorship is truly an amazing thing. Not only does it change the life of a child forever, but it also teaches us to appreciate every bit of what God has blessed us with." Avalon is one of today's most established Christian music acts, selling more than three million albums to date. They will be performing at Women of Faith events throughout 2006 as well as their own concert dates.
