Sara’s Myspace bulletin says: After seeing the aftermath and hearing the horror stories of the hundreds of thousands killed in Rwanda in the 1990s, it is easy to push the thoughts and images to the back of our minds and thank God we live in a more enlightened and more just day and age. Unfortunately, another largely-ignored genocide is being perpetrated even now, just north of Rwanda in Sudan. It has been going on for three years now, yet is just now beginning to come to the global forefront.
Sara Groves street team members April and Adam Houston heard about the violence in the Darfur region of Sudan earlier this year and, shocked by the lack of awareness in their community, sought to use their talents of media arts and graphic design to improve visibility for the cause, while at the same time "adding to the beauty" by contributing to humanitarian aid in the Sudan and Chad area. They pray God will bless their humble efforts and use them to make a difference, spreading His love and peace to the people in Darfur who so desperately need it right now.
Proceeds from the shirts the Houstons designed will go to the International Rescue Commission and to Feed the Hungry's work in Sudan and Chad and can be seen here on Sara’s blog.
