Da TRUTH Review

Hard-hitting and strong, Da’ T.R.U.T.H. is the latest Cross Movement protégé but his story is not the one you might expect.

After growing up in a conservative Philadelphia household, he actually wanted nothing to do with hip-hop, preferring soft R&B and contemporary gospel. It wasn't until he started satirizing the genre in rap that he found its true pleasures. After that, there was no looking back; "The Faith" is the happy fruit. Full of provocative lyrics and riveting truths, da' T.R.U.T.H. lays it out boldly, challenging the church for its lukewarm behaviors and culturized weaknesses. Gritty and real, every track. Standouts include the exuberantly rockin' "On Duty" and the valiant "Our World." "Who's Team?" challenges the industry to look within and make Biblical corrections where needed. Tell you this: he earns his moniker. He's bringing the truth and in the process, enriching our faith lives if we'll open our hearts to this pure message wrapped up in hot beats. Hard to resist.
