Special guest band, Mikeschair, will open the event beginning at 8:00 pm. Jackson Waters will make its national debut on Word with "Let It Fly," launching early 2007. The album showcases the band's diverse musical background that ranges from punk to jazz and virtually everything in between. The result is a classic acoustic rock sound that is steeped heavily in the ideas of vintage rock. Also signature to Jackson Waters is its heady, intelligent lyrics that are particularly popular with the college crowd.
Before recently signing with Word, Jackson Waters initially made its mark as an indy band playing small town shows and concerts on the Arkansas college circuit. Comprising drummer Ryan Hawk, singer David Leonard, guitarists Toby Friesen and Jesse LaFave, as well as bassist Brian Meek, the band expanded its territory to include the much greater southeast and began appearing at major Christian festivals across the U.S.
