Crystal Rose searched its vault and selected some of their best live performances for this compilation project, "Pure Gospel." Covering praise & worship as well as contemporary and traditional gospel songs by some of today's most recognized choirs, "Pure Gospel" includes tracks by Brenda Waters, Patrick Love, Donald Lawrence and Whitfield Company. There's plenty of teaching going on in the midst of these sizzling gospel tracks ("Go Beyond Where You Are," by Products of Praise). It's impossible not to love the classic "Have a Talk with Jesus," covered here powerfully by Patrick Love. Happy also to see my old favorite Kim Burrell representing on "Jesus Paid It All," with New G Dillard. All in all, "Pure Gospel" is solid old-school gospel, nicely indicative of the gospel genre's major growth spurt.
