"The Premiere" conveys Soul P’s testimony through the disc’s autobiographical songs, and gives Christian rap a new flavor with the ability to make people want to get out on the dance floor and have a good time. The stirring project’s celebratory, danceable, catchy, and life-affirming songs, not only deal with social ills of inner-city life, but also offer hope of redemption and happiness through Christ.
“Christ is the main message that I want to get across,” says Soul. “I want to show that after everything I've been through, this album is like my premiere movie. Up to this point I've been through so much and dealt with so much garbage. I'm here to give a message of hope to those like me who've dealt with their own struggles. It's like Allen Iverson finally getting the chance to play pro ball. To those who are going through something, keep believing 'cause you will have a premiere." A music video for The Premiere’s standout retro 80s sounding single “Whoa Whoa!”—Beatmart Recording’s first music video—was shot by director Justin Purser of Anonymous Content, the same production company that works with Quentin Tarrantino, in downtown Los Angeles at the beginning of December. It will be released nationwide early January.
